Springfield XDS was recalled when the manufacturer found that it could lead to unintentional discharge when the slide is locked open. Another reason was the double fire that could occur when the trigger was pulled once.

2. Are Springfield XDs the same as Hellcat?

No. Springfield XD-S and Hellcat are two different models but share certain similarities in size and dimensions. XD-S is a single-stack pistol designed to be highly concealable. Hellcat is a double-stack micro-compact gun. It is shorter and thinner than XD-S but has a higher capacity because it is double-stack.
